We are a family owned and operated transmission shop with long term employees of 35 years experience We opened our doors in 1964 at 3088 S Highland Drive as Royal Transmission Over the next 30 years we built our business to 9 stores When we started we were a rebuild shop but in 1981 we remodeled and expanded our original shop to include 3 service bays which allowed us to work directly on customers vehicles In 1994 we sold 8 of our stores to the Cottman Transmission Franchise We remained at our original location and renamed it to Transmission Service Center where we have been providing great customer service for 49 years

Transmission Service Center is a family owned and operated automotive transmission shop serving drivers in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded in 1964, the business originally opened its doors as Royal Transmission at 3088 S Highland Drive. Over the years, the shop grew to nine locations, built on hands-on expertise and long-term team stability—now supported by employees with up to 35 years of experience. In 1981, Transmission Service Center remodeled and expanded its original facility to include three service bays, enabling the team to work directly on customers’ vehicles. While the company sold eight of its stores to the Cottman Transmission Franchise in 1994, Transmission Service Center remained at the original location and was renamed as it is known today. For the past 49 years, the shop has focused on delivering great customer service for transmission needs in the Memphis area.
